[Despite the cutesy username, this video opens on a man visibly somewhere in his mid-twenties, muscular arms crossed over his knees and a cheerful smile revealing canines about as sharp as you'll find outside of the monsters here.]
Hey, so, I'm one of the newcomers that showed up at the start of the month - nice to meet you all. [He waves one red-nailed hand before resting it over his left, slightly concealing the black ring on it.] I was asking the lady who explains what's going on to everyone whether she knew anything about what people being here means for where we came from, and she told me she'd heard some stories about Mirrorbound who saw stuff going on in their worlds through their mirrors. So if that's happened to any of you guys, could you let me know a little more about it? At this point I'm kinda crossing my fingers people aren't freaking out about me being gone back home. Or hey, if you showed up at an awkward time and want to commiserate about it, I'm here for you.
[The "freaking out" is honestly an understatement, considering the depths his partner has dropped to after losing people in the past. But to offset the more serious question, he reaches a hand offscreen and holds up...well, it's the right shape and size to be a soccer ball, even if it hasn't quite reached the modern style of them yet.]
And for anyone old or new - I'm looking for some people to play soccer with. If you don't know it, it's a sport where you split into teams and try to kick a ball into goal defended by the other team. Obviously it's more fun with more people, but if anyone wants to learn to play or just get a bit of a workout, we can go one-on-one.
[A brief pause after that, and then:] I think that's it for now, so let me know, okay?
[He's still not quite enough out of public image mode to openly ask for someone to practice fistfighting against. Maybe another time.]

[ While he heard of those situations, it is better if the people affected by those experiences speak about them. Instead of second-hand accounts... ]
Isn't a hint sitting right in our name? Mirrorbounds. Perhaps what we are is reflection cast from the other side of the mirrors.
no subject
Like a...duplicate, almost? That's...huh. [Another few seconds of thought before the seriousness drains out of his face a bit, and he grins apologetically.] Sorry, I'm still pretty new to all the magic and supernatural stuff. I like that theory. And if there's people showing up who are younger than others remember them, if the younger one had gone missing, they'd know, right?
[Surely they'd remember a period where that person disappeared, if that was what happened.]
no subject
[ He clicks his tongue and shakes his head ]
I'm the opposite with magic, been there, done that— [ Got the t-shirt ] But I used to help a kid with barely any experience in that. So if you need something explained, let me know.
no subject
[That is barely scraping the surface of the actual feelings he has on the matter, but that's basically all Momo ever does when it comes to this sort of thing.]
That's good to know. I think it's a bit early yet for me to have any clear questions, but I'll be glad to have someone with experience I can ask. I'm usually okay at picking up new things, but this is a pretty big new thing to pick up.
no subject
But until you feel more comfortable here, maybe don't wander into the aristocratic district. [ If it sounds like a warning, that's because it is. But to not make it sound too ominous, Caster follows up with a question ]
So how visible we're talking about, if you don't mind me asking. You mentioned soccer, so I guess you're not a royal but more of an athlete?

That can seriously happen? Like, the "seeing through mirrors" stuff. Do we know who those people are?

... so friendly...)
Right. That's good news, isn't it? We can check our mirrors, we just have to remember not to obsess over them. (guess who's gonna' obsess over his? this guy.) I really appreciate the heads-up, man.
–hey, I've got leftover white paint from an odd-job I did a few days ago. Wanna' use some for your sad soccer ball?
no subject
No problem. I couldn't really leave it alone myself, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. [That said, elaborating on that would mean touching on the negatives for Momo, so it's time for a change of topic.]
Hey, my soccer ball's doing its best! [He says that a bit dramatically and hugs it to his chest for a moment before letting up on the theatrics.] But I won't say no to making it look a bit more like I'm used to. I was mostly just glad to find one in the first place.

Do you mean like...things that were going on without them? I don't like to think about it. I worry about Shije being upset all over again, but at least I can count on Jiang Cheng to take care of her.
[and, from what he recently saw, she can take care of herself fairly well too.]
Is that really all there is to it? You kick a ball?
no subject
Yeah, basically. I've been trying not to think about it too much either, but I don't think I can do that forever, so I thought it'd be better to get some information.
[His main concern is his partner, but also, his disappearance would be hugely visible in general, so it's a bit of a worry. Which also means he's all too happy to jump topics, and he pats his pockets before fishing out a small notebook and a pencil and starting to draw something.]
Kicking the ball is most of how you play, but a full game is arranged like this. [He turns the notebook around to reveal a rectangular field outline with lines marking the goals and 11 large dots on each side.] So there's two teams of eleven, one person on each team defends the goal, everyone else tries to kick the ball through the goal on the opposite end of the field to where they started. You can't touch the ball with your hands and you can't touch another player to get the ball off them, so you have to be strategic about it. There's actually a lot of rules when it's played "officially" in my world, but that'd take ages to explain, so that's the basics.
no subject
[well that would be the natural thing, wouldn't it? most of the mirrorbound probably feel that way. wei wuxian frowns a little, because his own feelings about that are sudden and complex. so he pushes them aside, focusing on the game that's being explained instead.
he nods slowly once the basics are explained. ok. yeah, he's got it. wei wuxian grins and announces proudly:]
Lan Zhan and I will play!
no subject
[Just as rough for them considering how bad Yuki can be about that sort of thing in particular, but nonetheless, Momo is one of the people with an easy answer. He's enjoying the opportunity to meet people from another experience, but given the choice to leave, he knows what he'd pick.
That said, he's not the type to linger on serious things when they're to do with him, so instead, he gives a knowing sort of grin at the offer.] You bring up this Lan Zhan guy a lot, is he your partner or something?
[Momo's been keeping his teasing side in check for too long since he got here, it's about time he let it out a bit.]

Have you heard from anyone that has seen something in their mirrors yet?
no subject
[Let him live, he's still working on getting his brain around the kinds of concepts he has to deal with actually being a thing here.] It sounds like we might not actually be absent from home, one way or another.
no subject
Really? That's such a relief!
no subject
[It's enough to put his heart at ease for the moment, because he was extremely worried for a hot minute there.] I bet your important business will still be waiting when you get back home.

Did she say what kinds of things they saw? I was told that time didn't pass.

Not that there's anyway to be sure.

[In this kind of situation, at least. That'd be a hard lie to coordinate.] Forgetting everything here sounds kind of sad, but I guess that makes sure it doesn't interfere with things where we come from.

Huh?? People are seeing things in the mirrors...?? But, I've looked in my mirror before. And never seen anything!!
[Lots of times. Loads of times. He spent a few hours a week in the Looking-Glass House the first couple of months, missing family and friends, but the frame was all the sign he got of them.]
no subject
Yeah, they said it was only some people...I'm not sure they mentioned a pattern, either, so maybe it's random. I couldn't tell you who it was who did see things, the welcome crew weren't that specific when they told me about it.
[He sounds a little apologetic that he can't explain the situation, but then, there's a lot of things here he can't explain.]
i'm sorry, he gets an early glimpse of Papyrus being... like this
[And this is the first he's hearing it. He scowls, grinding his teeth, then holds up one finger.]
Please wait a minute.
[The feed from his side ends, and for a couple minutes he listens to the various recordings. The original message over again, then a couple of the earlier replies at random, before returning to reply again. This time his voice is a little more stilted, with forced politeness that's not quite managing to sound sincere.]
...Okay... It sounds like Miss Nessie told you that... So I'll ask her about it. She should know more...
[He fidgets for a moment, then sighs.]
But that isn't your fault!! Did you have other, newer questions? I'll help where I can.
pats him on the shoulder...
I kinda rushed that one out to the first person I saw, because it was the one I really wanted answered as soon as I heard we'd be here for a little while... [It's by way of an apology, but so the other man doesn't feel down about not being able to help, he holds a hand under his chin for a moment to pin down something else he'd like to know.] Actually, about this "Bond" stuff I keep hearing about. They were pretty clear about it having to happen sometime, but about how long would I have to find a Bond partner before things start really going wrong?
can't spell passive aggressive without a few letters from papyrus, much as he aims to be positive
momo reserves his passive-aggressiveness for his partner mostly but it's still a mood
