As a Witch, I find myself requiring a 'Bond'.
[Mogget has no desire to experiment with pushing the boundaries of his ability to contain magic in this place, and feels it would be far more sensible to secure an immediate outlet. Working these communication devices with paws is an effort in itself, but he's managed to set it mostly upright and facing him.
Addressing the other Mirrorbound is a small white cat with green eyes.]
If you believe you would have something to offer in that regard, I invite you to put it forward.

But if I do, I expect you to run and for us not to meet again until my issues are resolved.

I can agree to that, given the circumstances.
[Mogget does not enjoy being chased.]

[Simple. Just how he likes it.]
journal change, can't use the old one on the comms anymore
He's somewhat hunched and twitchy, tail wound up in a tight coil.]
np!
Bearing in mind the warnings he has been given, he doesn't put himself in a position to be easily chased. Mogget appears atop a wall a little above the height of Near's head.]
Ah, there you are.

It really is a talking cat after all. Not that he'd expected anything else, but seeing him on the network and seeing him in person are two entirely different things.]
Here I am, yes.
no subject
[He sits down, then slowly lowers his forelegs until he's loafing on the wall. His eyes don't move from Near, and he doesn't blink.]
In your opinion, would it be wise for me to remain up here?
no subject
The problem that sometimes comes with hoping something might not happen is then in turn expecting it to happen. Which then puts one on edge. This normally wouldn't be an issue for Near if the lack of a proper bond wasn't putting him on edge already.
He takes a slow, calming breath. It's fine. They're just sitting there. There's nothing to chase.]
Yes. For now.
no subject
But he feels fairly safe where he is, and is much faster than he looks. Given an added ability to produce lightning when he feels like it, he doesn't think that Near is going to present much danger to him.]
Very well. [Still, he doesn't enjoy being chased. He stays where he is.]
Perhaps introductions, then. You can call me Mogget.
no subject
[If the cat wants a last name he can share it later, if he hasn't already gathered it from his username.
Fur. It's all fur and no meat. Not worth chasing. Don't do it.]
It's a pleasure to meet you off-network.
[He would have said "in person" but it could be argued that this hardly works for either of them.]
no subject
'Eli' it is. And I'm sure it is a pleasure.
[The small cat settles where he is, narrowing his eyes slightly but not blinking.]
So, what are you supposed to be?
no subject
[Near frowns, his tail swishing along the cobblestone in irritation.]
I thought that was apparent. Unless you meant my occupation, which is a toy seller.
no subject
And I haven't spoken to one of you before. It isn't always that easy to tell, when everyone is at different stages of transformation.
no subject
[This is said with a light shrug. Near is too testy right now, so he avoids arguing.]
no subject
[If Mogget were human-shaped, one might assume he'd currently be lazily reclining with his head propped up on his hand. He observes Near silently for a few moments, then blinks slowly.]
I believe our purpose here was to test your prey drive. So, shall we?
no subject
Near nods, already feeling his heart beat more frantically in anticipation. He hates it.]
I suppose we should.
no subject
[Mogget stands up and moves to a spot on the wall where he can jump down with ample space to start running. He did promise, so to speak, and doesn't fancy being eaten by a large snake with an overactive prey drive.
The cat hops down, landing silently, and looks over at Near. The tip of his tail flicks.]
