a totally normal and innocuous wanted ad
Name: Myr Shivana | un: mshivana
Date: 9/15
Format: Voice
Evening, Mirrorbound. My name's Myr Shivana, for those who don't know my voice.
I've need of someone with experience mediating disputes--a village elder, a judge, even a senior ench--senior academic, if you've had particularly bad students. [There's a note of faint amusement in his voice, there.]
You'd be helping settle a matter that's caused no end of pain and distress to those involved. The reasons behind it are sensitive in nature, so discretion's a must.
I can compensate your time--with cunes or honey or service, whatever's preferred.
[...]
Also--unrelated to the other issue, if there's any Witches or Fae who specialize in illusions invoking taste instead of sight, I'd like to talk to you. Or cooks specializing in food for folk who can't taste much, I s'pose could work too. [He sounds cheerier about this one, at least.]

I'm...wondering. If staying here's not something we should be working on, instead of trying to go home.
Because it seems as if our lives back home do carry on without whatever it is of us that's been brought here, but these versions of us seem to vanish when the mirrors take us back.
Which might all be wrong, with so little information to work on, but I don't know anyone in the Coven's ever said or tried to ascertain that it isn't what happens. In which case--
[Putting them back through the mirrors would just kill them.
Then, more softly,] I'd help you stay. You deserve what you've found here. And Everett needs you.

Thank you.
...he needs you too, you know. We could all stay. It's good here.

I still don't know if it's what's meant for me. But if--if I knew certain things, if my life really did carry on without me...
I'd stay.

[Because wouldn't that be ideal, if they could all stay here together without regret? Yes, that is a goal worth working towards.]

[He is back out of wistful mode, into nerd mode, and can be heard getting up and pacing around with a click of hooves.]
Albeit if they've been thinking about the problem purely as sending us home, without regard to what we are or would be returning too, they mightn't have thought to investigate that. Which means it might need us asking...
[A quiet sigh.] And trusting that they really do mean to allow us our will on our own fates, which I know not all of us do.

[Of course, Hector's track record for who he considers trustworthy is spotty to say the least.]
We could ask them. The worst they can say is they won't look into it.
no subject
I'm game to ask. About that, and about whether they really have any notions on whether we can have children. [LITTLE DOES HE KNOW exactly how tied up those two things might be!!] Want to come with me on it?
[Not that he needs back up or reassurance so much as Hector is part of his herd and it's always safer to enter the unknown in company.]
no subject
Sure, I can come. I am curious.

Good. Wish we had the time to march over there right away--but after the celebrations in Dorchacht, maybe? Maker grant the rest of, [there's a sound of Myr making a gesture, probably something open-handed and helpless at his own troubles,] the problem I'm dealing with will be resolved by then.

{because what could possibly happen during the celebrations that might throw their plans into disarray?]
