Three things.
1.) Are there care requirements for scales? I am apparently turning into a naga and frankly, I still don't think this combination of cold-blooded and warm-blooded organism should exist, so I am finding myself having trouble looking out for what my new needs might be.
2.) Has anyone written userscripts for the mirrors before? I am aware they run on magic, but that is no excuse for not updating their performance to professional standards.
3.) In this time of increased festivities, consider shopping at Karen's Patisserie to obtain a cake for your bonding ceremony / wedding / combined wedding-and-bonding ceremony. There is a discount on cakes matching the colorscheme of your dress, if you provide an image to an employee. I am an employee for the duration of this month, so you can contact either me or the store directly.

[ If you drop by Karen's Pattisserie this month, either as a worker or a customer, you can run into Tieria, who is... consistently looking stressed, really. He's wearing an apron and usually he has dough on him, which is incredible, because he does seem to be very orderly and insistently follow any recipes to the letter... and yet...
As a customer service worker, he is polite but certainly not friendly, so if you want to complain to Karen about that...? Or about the fact that his cookies really aren't all that tasty...? Do it. Nothing is stopping you. Or maybe just give him some advice. ]

On the first point at least, frequent bathing makes the shedding process easier.

My appearance right now is one I am quite fond of, especially my legs.

Then again, there seem to be fewer naga among the Mirrorbound than other sorts.
[Others can pad around with fur and tails, but they just don't get how bad it is when your entire lower half gets changed that dramatically, in Jin Guangyao's opinion.]

Losing one's legs is certainly one of the least fortunate transformations, but I can't imagine being exactly enthused about being part-spider either.
Have you been dealing with this for long?
no subject
[Well. Not lost. He knows exactly where they are. The husks of them are in the back of his closet.]
Though I found the changes progressed rather quickly over the four months I've been here. Perhaps you'll be fortunate enough to be eased into them more slowly, somehow. I wish I could give more in the way of useful advice, but I still find it to be a difficult situation at times.

So far I have only gained scales around my waist, but I am not going to start being optimistic about the pace of the transformations.

whoa!!! you're working at the patisserie? would not have guessed you were that good at baking! (bring some pastries home if you can, okay? :D)
what are you looking to get out of upgrading the mirrors? :)
no subject
Is there any kind of baked good everyone would particularly like?
As for the mirror... For one, more secure messaging would be a priority. On the other hand, I've been wondering if we can write out own programs on it. I would like something that can display a proper data matrix, but there are no computers here, as we are all painfully aware of.

let's see... cheesecake, coffee cake, regular cake... lol this house just likes cake i guess! didn't hear from some of the others but i'll let you know when i do. i'll pay you back for it, nbd. :)
what kind of data are you looking to store in the matrix? something like that could be pretty useful. i haven't seen anyone try to do something like that yet but these sound like good improvements!
it might be something worth talking to the coven about!

I will bring cake though and it should be edible at worst and tasty at best.
As for data... General information about Aefenglom, to start with, so we can better analyze patterns and base future predictions off them. Forecasting future events is something computers are rather helpful with, even if human beings can do it with training and sufficient intelligence.

and i see what you're saying, maybe? sounds like you're looking to create some kind of organized timeline. i think having an easy place to store data in general's a good idea, like the matrix. as long as it's easy for other people to use? pretty sure i know some people here who come from a time before computers existed lol so you're gonna blow their minds when this happens!!!
idk what i can do to help but just lmk if you need anything! here to help my housemates whenever i can!

As far as I can tell, yes. There has been no difference in my ability to hold my temperature - as of yet, anyway.

There was no strange transition period from warm to cold-blooded?
no subject
At least you have time to prepare. You'll want to make sure to regulate your body temperature through alternative means.

I assume I won't have to buy a heat lamp for myself, at least.

Potions can offer a temporary solution. There are enchanted tattoos, but I decided against those when it became clear I would need to have them redone after every shedding. Your best bet is an enchanted item you can wear. You'll just need to make sure to have a witch recharge it every so often.
[He may have, at some point, used all three of these.]

I do thank you for the advice, at least. Hopefully I have a bit more of a grace period before I lose either my legs or my warm-blooded nature, but I am not going to hold my breath.
There is some cruel irony to ending up confined to the ground like that.
no subject
My legs were the last thing to change. Hopefully you'll be fortunate in your own changes.
[It's inevitable, really. Better to get it over with sooner so there's no need to dread it anymore.]

I'd really have much preferred a flying beast type if I already had to be a monster.
