Hullo again! I hope everyone is well!
[Yes that's right Aefenglom...your favourite Lalafellian entrepreneur is back and has clearly been...busy? She seems to be in her kitchen, a set of distilling equipment behind her, various metal and glass containers connected with piping and tubing to create an apparatus that's purpose soon becomes clear. The confident little lady is proud of herself as she stands on a chair in all her three feet of glory, large glass bottles grasped in each hand. The one on the left sports a liquid with a light blue hue to it and what seems to be golden flecks that shimmer as they float about. The other bottle though holds a liquid that looks like a rosé in color, seemingly innocent enough, until one notices the small but very apparent wormlike larvae whose bio-luminescent skin gives off a faint green glow.
She gives each of the bottles a shake, the flakes and larvae floating about respectively.]
I've been attempting to recreate a few of the most popular spirits one can find in Ul'dah and I've almost managed to get the recipe juuust right! Of course it isn't perfect, as ingredients here are a bit different to what's available in Eorzea...but so far I'm happy with the result! The blue one here is said to make the drinker see stars if they have too much of it and this one [Yeah, the worm one...] well they say if you can down a whole bottle you'll be strong enough to take down a rampaging goobbue with your bare fists!
[She sets the two bottles down on the table so she can talk with her hands, as one does.]
While these spirits suit my own palette just fine, I wanted to survey how other Mirrorbound might find them, so I'm looking for willing taste testers, if you will! The more the merrier. If you like what you taste I'll give you a bottle of it to take with you. If you don't, then I'll buy you a drink of your choosing.
[What's there to lose, right?]
And speaking of brews...does anyone have a particular favourite drink from where they hail from? If so, what is it? I'd love to hear about it, alcoholic or otherwise!
[For science, naturally.]

cursed
[There's a wave of her hand in his direction as her palm extends his way, expectantly waiting to receive his mirror as tribute. No more embarrassing yourself (or her) on the network.
But that doesn't mean she's not digging the giddy, lighthearted mood in their kitchen. When he does finally relinquish his mirror she shuts it off and sets it atop the table.]
I agree though - it's the best part.
goodbye video...
[He reluctantly shuts his device. Goodbye, video feed. Farewell. Henry's been removed from the internet, as a responsible drunk person should. He hands it over, not seeming all too upset about relinquishing his network privileges. He can still watch her reply to people!
Henry leans over the arm of the sofa, cradling his chin against his palm. Totto's curled up before where his feet would have been, fast asleep.]
I think so, too. I'll admit, I'm still not sold on eating bugs all the time. But I've DEFINITELY seen bugs in liquor before, so to act like it's weird is dumb. [He shrugs. He's not as drunk as someone else might be, after drinking what he's sampled.] Hey, you were asking all these people what their favorite drink is. But what about yours?
byebye
[She does perk up though at the knowledge that her drink isn't the first he's seen with a bug in it. See! It isn't that weird! After having deposited the mirror she moves to the side of the sofa he's leaning over, setting her palms down on the arm of it as she hovers close. It's...admittedly nice to be close, especially as of late, after the unfortunate encounters she's had.]
My favourite drink? It's a certain type of mulled tea, made with tea leaves from Southern Thanalan in the Sagolii Desert.
no subject
But it could be. Not that Henry understands a lick of anything.
Protective as he is about her as of late, it's true, that having her safely at home is a peaceful notion. The dark mage smiles as she plants her hands upon the arm, closing distance with him. Alcohol has this peculiar warming effect, he finds, and it runs the gamut of pleasant, to neutral, to slightly less neutral, to unpleasant. This is pleasant, probably.
In response to her favorite tea, Henry leans to the side and lets his head crash against the back of the sofa, still leaning close to the arm. He makes a sort of groaning noise that is still in good spirits.]
That's a tall order to fill... [A sigh.] Isn't there anything, I dunno, similar that you can replicate here? I can't exactly get to the Sagolii Desert... Not even with a teleportation spell. I think we might have to start thinking about time-space, and that's bound to get messier than necromancy.
no subject
There's a little laugh out of her as she watches him roll back into the couch, seemingly dismayed but with the ever present happy look on his face that he usually wears.]
Oh don't be so dramatic! It wasn't any order at all.
[She reaches out to pat the top of his hand with one of her own, unable to resist the urge to feel his skin against hers.]
Besides, there are quality leaves in the markets here and spices galore. Mulled tea is easy enough to make.
no subject
Henry nods and tips his head to the other side thoughtfully, farther away from the back of the couch this time.]
So... A good quality tea, I'm gathering. Then, just mull it.
[The dark mage understands the concept of mulled drinks well enough, even if his experience with them has been less thorough. Nice drinks were few and far between, but the Shepherds, at least, indulged in things like mulled teas and ciders. Even growing up he'd had the stuff, here or there.]
But how about alcohol? Is it like the stuff we had on Eostre? Would that be your pick of the litter?
no subject
[She thinks back to the drink she'd shared with Henry on Little Lady's Day, the one with petals and a sweet fruity taste to it. She smooths her thumb over the top of his hand absentmindedly, enjoying the feeling it gives her.]
It was quite good, reminded me a bit of a rice wine. I would imagine I enjoy a good wine of any sort most of all, if I had to pick.
no subject
Oh, rice wine. I know the stuff. Haven't had much of it myself, but I guess it's mellow. I can see the relationship.
[He tips his head in the direction of her stage bottles, the ones she had to use on her video in all of their glory.]
The stuff you've got over there's a lot harder than that, huh? Why don't we try making rice wine, like something you'd favor most of all?
no subject
Well...we could try. There's no reason not to. Plum wine would be great to try and make too!
[Oh boy...does this mean more alcoholic adventures in Tataru and Henry's future? Totally.]
no subject
If she's going to surrender her palm to him, he rubs his fingers into it with a silly grin. The nuance of Henry smiles is usually quite unfeeling, but silly is something.]
Hey, now you're thinking! Not that I have a single clue how to start. But we're two Witches. May as well start brewing up some brews to go with your stews! ...Aaaand then we can focus on hallucinogenic mushrooms, and wacky potions, so on, so on...
[Henry has even higher ambitions than alcoholic, apparently.]
no subject
Well I've quite a few clues as to how to start, but perhaps we'll leave the mushrooms for another time.
[They're gonna get lit but...responsibly.]
no subject
I'll just leave all the details to you, then.
[His voice is melodic, airy and carefree in his mild buzz. He DID sample the drink, and it WAS effective. Content that he's gotten a good interaction out of her, he slips back down onto the couch with his head against the arm of it, arms askew over its side in a really silly, awkward, lazy posture. Tataru's hand is surrendered, so that she may go back to replying to people on the network if she pleased.]
