So with the weather getting even warmer, some of us with fur have probably dealt with shedding- Well, more shedding than before- for the past month, if you've been here a while. Maybe it started with new fur, for you people that showed up pretty recently. Anyway, there's some stores that sell combs and brushes specifically for shaving fur.

It might feel nice, but don't use those things every day. Not unless you want to start shredding your skin in some weirdly slow way.

It felt nice at the time? Plus there's a satisfaction to clearing an area that had all this winter coat on it, and not having a bunch of loose hair mixed in there.

If skin is shedding then it's probably going to bleed soon. [Because the skin was weaker.]

Mm... It can sting to some degree, if you don't go too far with it. It's easy to stop quickly enough when you're the one in control.

So a little stinging is okay, but more than that is too much...

Well, I want to lose a little fur. I'm already shedding... I don't want to imagine how bad it gets in the summer.

[Not long after this post goes live Judar gets a small, glass jar dropped on his lap. Iskandar is not master of stealth, and he wasn't even trying to be especially stealthy, so Judar could have heard him coming.]

[The contents is a gel that smells a bit fruity. It feels cold when applied but it also stops any itching or burning. Did he branch out to alchemy now? Maybe.]

[ Here he was, just telling someone that he was fine, and this was brought up because no one really talked about it. It's easy to say that over the watch, with the video function off. Not so easy with someone you live with. Can't hide the scabs and irritation from him- though it's less from bleeding, and closer to the paler scabs that you see over rashes and such, as very little blood had been drawn from all this.

Judar's avoiding putting it through his fur with the thought of 'I just got clean.' Though his ears and neck could probably use it, with the fur being shorter piles than the majority of him. ]

You haven't started looking as if you spent way too much time on the sun today.

[It's almost eerie how a man of his size can be this delicate. Judar doesn't have to worry; the balm isn't sticky as it's mostly water and it dries quickly. The relief is immediate and lasts for a bit. Longer if the application is repeated at regular intervals.]

I admit that was what I initially thought. I wouldn't have guessed excessive brushing can cause such an effect.

[The salve is for sunburn but it would work for any kind of skin irritation. Even insect bites.]

Sounds more like you just don't know how to handle sharp objects. Have you considered getting someone a little less... clumsy to do it for you?

I can handle sharp objects fine. You're imagining it worse than it is. It's just some advice not to do it every day.

They're not even that sharp. It's more like being repeatedly scratched than anything else.

oh yeah the undercoat thing. thought i was gonna end up with bald spots, so much was coming out.

but damn you went a overboard with the shedding blade, huh.

See? Yeah, and no one really tells you ahead of time that it's going to be like that, or how it'd feel like you'll never be done with all that undercoat.

yeah it is. i kept sending louis pictures and i think he got kinda sickve it.

thankfully he gave me some heads up and told me how to handle it. helps to have a bonded whos had fur his whole life.

oh and it dries way faster outve the shower now too
