[ VOICE ] - dated before the first ship to Dorchacht
My name is Lux, and I have a favor to ask of a few of you.
A number of us will be traveling to Dorchacht to... smooth over some rough patches in our relationship with them. Say what you will about how they treat others—I have my own opinions, and that isn't necessarily something I wish to speak about here. That isn't the point of this. Talks are bound to be tense, and many of us will be going in blind.
I am looking for a few monsters to align with, who won't shy away from gathering information, by any means necessary. In exchange for this, I offer a temporary Bond, during our time there; and protection if things don't turn out as expected. I will do what I can to keep you safe while in Dorchacht.
I am also looking for a few Witches willing to come together to push for equal treatment of Monsters within Dorchacht. Neither city can afford a war; and while I have experience with this sort of situation, there is strength in numbers. We have the resources—and it only makes sense to gather as many in one place before attacking this problem.
This is asking a lot, I know, but I want to be prepared for anything. I doubt I am the only one. I will be leaving in a few days. I would prefer to have these discussions before then, either in person, or here. Thank you.

[ Daenerys carries her voice cautiously, ensuring such a bond would not be dubious in the slightest. ]
I do not believe you are asking for much, my lady.

I want to hope for the best, but I want to be prepared in case things take a turn. We need to look out for each other, in any way that we can, and this is the best way I can think of. I know there are those who struggle with the concept of Bonding— [ Hell, she was... still is one, but ] But we need to prepare for anything and everything.
[ Her smile warms at Daenerys's reassurance. ]
Thank you. I know that there's no reason for anyone here to listen to me, or take what I have to say seriously, so I can't help but worry. And please, call me Lux. Will you be going to Dorchacht as well?

[ They needed to prepare. There was no doubt about it. Lux's words were collected, enough for Dany to face this ... odd device to respond. ]
There's every reason for people to listen. You speak when people remain silent. Be proud of that.
[ A nod follows. ]
And please call me Daenerys. I will, I hope to learn more about this city and how we can best approach the brewing tension.

[ She pauses at Danny's praise. It's not like she isn't used to receiving it, but putting it like that... Lux smiles meekly in response. ]
That's very kind of you, thank you. [ With more certainty— ] I only hope that I can inspire those who remain silent to find their own voice some day—and until that day comes, I am more than happy to be their light.
[ Nodding gently, her smile smooths into something more incandescent and encouraging. ]
So do I—although it seems like you may have some experience with this sort of thing already. [ "Hope for peace, prepare for war." ]

I agree, although I worry about whether we're in a good position to address those concerns at all. I still intend to try, but I'm not sure how well the people of Dorchacht will take it.

[ Firmer: ]
This is not war nor should it be, but we can not grow complacent and fearful of acting.

[ Her tone turns a bit more firm, but she clearly isn't as impassioned as Daenerys is. ]
We can't be quick to act... even if I want to. The conditions in that city are abhorrent, but for the safety of the people of Aefenglom, and those being oppressed by the magocracy of Dorchacht, we have to bide our time.

Did you dream of this city, my lady?

I did.
[ She's going somewhere with this, but Lux isn't sure where. ]

[ She's forward and a bit harsher than she'd like. ]
Biding time risks more to fall chained or sold off like property. This month is all I can afford to offer.
