[Kyo sighs. He really. Doesn't want to have to do this, but. Well. It's been long enough that he has been stubborn and unsure and worried about this. So he may as well just get it over with? At least start to try. He's tried some alternatives and it helps a little, but it probably isn't nearly as effective as it would be to figure having a Bond to help deal with the moon cycle and all. Even temporarily during the worst of it.

Because unfortunately, as much as Kyo's usual response is to figure things on his own or even just run away. Well. This? He can't. He can't deal with it alone without some help.]

So uh. It's Kyo again. I was figuring it is probably about time....but I should be looking into the whole...you know. The Bond thing. I'm tired enough with the rain as it is to want to deal with that for another month. N-not that I'm saying I necessarily want anything serious or permanent or whatever. Just....to help us through the full moon at least or something. Help each other manage the worst of it, at least.

[He's aware he might not be the most appealing candidate for having a Bond with, but even so. Even something temporary, that would help. Help both of them through it.]

Pretty important. Yeah. I've just been....I don't know. Unsure? Stubborn? But we need them.

[Unfortunately. They are very important. Though for now Kyo is only figuring wanting to manage a temporary arrangement, not necessarily anything serious or whatever.]

[ ... They did say it'd be hard without them. But of course when you're a teenager you think you're invincible. ]

What's it like not having one?

It sucks. I mean there are alternatives to the Bond but they aren't as effective. Not as effective at stopping monsters losing control and transforming I mean. From what I hear anyway. I haven't done the Bond thing yet. That's why I figured on asking for a temporary thing at first.

[He can't begin to guess how one gets tired of the rain, but Papyrus can try to help with the rest of it.]

Have you considered... speed-dating? I think the slots might be filled up, but! You could always come by after, and make friends with the participants. Maybe someone there won't find a good bond, and they'll be happy to talk with you!

...dating? Uh, no. I mean besides my cousin now being here and if he hears mention of dating and me in the same sentence I don't even want to deal with that.

[Though. Just friends? As long as that was the arrangement of sorts. Kyo might be okay with that. Maybe.]

[There will be some of that too, probably, but Papyrus is a hard to catch skeleton, and he just wants to aim at friendship, himself.]

It's a series of meet-and-greets, where we get an idea if we would make a compatible bond! I think there's a video post in the Watch archives...

I've said before that anyone who wanted to date me would have to be insane or something. But I might have just missed that amid everything else. I would probably just....be looking with friends I guess.

[He wouldn't necessarily be seeking anything more at least initially anyway.]

What happens on the full moon?

That's when things get the worst. Especially with being what they call a 'monster' here.

Oh. [A pause.] Sorry, I'm really new, how bad is worst?

[He assumes even if he's not a monster (and it feels weird to be referring to people like that) it's something he should be aware of, like it'll negatively effect him too.]

The more time you spend without one, the worse the transformations are, the more.....you lose yourself, during the full moon. At least, for the monsters anyway.

[He isn't a witch, so doesn't really want to talk for them on how they figure things on their end.]

Lose yourself, like... becoming something else? [Or someone else? He can kind of empathize with the feeling of that, losing control.]

Sorry, that sounds terrible.

Yeah. We are literally transforming into these monsters and animals or whatever.

[More gradually and painfully than his usual experience of turning into a cat back home but Kyo isn't about the spill the beans on that.]

Do you mean just with you, or do you have another friend that needs help through one thing or another? I'm not sure how to help without more information-other then possibly sitting on you.

Especially if you don't want a Bond-bond.

I mean, I guess Momiji will need to figure something too. But he just arrived. I've been dealing with this way longer. I just figured even if it was just a temporary Bond during the full moon time or so at least, to deal with the worst of it.

I guess. And uh, not definitely yet? But I figured this was a way to reach everyone, so it seemed the best idea.

Mmm, it does spread word more quickly.

And I would come forward but-you're both young, right? It might be better to do a temporary bond with someone who is closer to your age and life experience.

But if it's needed? I'll be your backup. Yours and Momiji's.

Momiji's a year younger than me. I'm not sure on how age or whatever makes a difference, but. We'll see how I go, I guess. At least I have your offer, for now.
